Jones Children of Destiny Memorial Scholarship Fund was started to honor the memory and continue the legacy of Mr. Brian Keith Jones, beloved educator, student advocate, loved one, and friend. Mr. Jones lovingly referred to his students as “Buckethead-Balloon-Nosed Children of Destiny.” That name captures the whimsical spirit with which he captivated and empowered them and the larger communities he served. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. Jones Children of Destiny scholar. She is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a recent graduate of DeLaSalle High School and the NOCCA (New Orleans Center of Creative Arts) Media Arts program. In the Fall of 2021, she will begin her matriculation at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, where she will major in Animation with a concentration in 2D Animation. Upon graduation, she hopes to pursue a master’s in art therapy to one day offer inner-city children the opportunity to express their emotions through the world of art.
