Remembering Mr. Jones
Mr. Brian Jones was born September 7, 1965 in Centreville, Illinois - the only child of Hershel and Lily Maude Jones. Following graduation from East St. Louis High School, Mr. Jones received two bachelor’s degrees and two master’s degrees in both language arts and counseling. He served on the board with the Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri for over 20 years, as an Ambassador of education under Safe and Civil Schools with Founder Dr. Randall Sprick, Ph.D. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing a doctorate in education and teacher leadership.
Being a Drama and Speech teacher was Mr. Jones’ passion, having led students in the Normandy, Riverview Gardens, Jennings and Columbia School Districts in several plays, concerts and debates. He chose to inspire and instruct students to be their personal and educational best. In honor of his tremendous contributions to his craft and the communities he served, Mr. Jones was recognized by several Mayors in the St. Louis region.
Mr. Jones passed away on January 15, 2020.
